Handige Cortana commands die je moet weten!

Er zijn twee soorten mensen op aarde, mensen met de Xbox preview update en mensen zonder de Xbox preview update. Gelukkig voor die laatste groep mensen kunnen ze deze zomer ook genieten van Cortana op hun Xbox, als je een Xbox One hebt althans.

De nieuwe preview update die slechts een select groepje previewers op dit moment heeft bevat onder andere Cortana. De digitale assistente is na Windows Phone en Windows 10 nu dus ook op de Xbox te gebruiken. Cortana kan je spraakcommando’s verstaan en doet dit zo slim dat de Kinect spraakcommando’s hiermee overbodig zijn geworden. Voor Cortana heb je trouwens geen Kinect nodig, de microfoon van je headset is voldoende.

Later pas in Nederland

Op dit moment hebben alleen Duitsland, Engeland, Spanje, Italië en de VS ondersteuning voor Cortana. Nederland volgt waarschijnlijk dit jaar. Waarom snappen we niet, want communiceren met Cortana gaat in alle landen alleen nog in het Engels wat voor mij prima is. Wil je nu toch Cortana gebruiken dan zul je je Xbox moeten instellen op één van bovenstaande landen.

Luisterend oor

Cortana luistert eigenlijk altijd (creepy), maar wordt pas actief als je “Hey Cortana” zegt. Alle bestaande commands kent Cortana ook, maar in plaats van “Xbox” zeg je “Hey Cortana”. Bijvoorbeeld “Hey Cortana, Xbox on” om je Xbox aan te zetten. Dit command is trouwens de enige waarvoor je nog wél Kinect moet hebben.

Handigste commands

Hier de handigste commands, die je eigenlijk uitgeprobeerd moet hebben als je de kans hebt:

• “Hey Cortana, Xbox on” – Werkt alleen met Kinect
• “Hey Cortana, play the next song” – Handig met de ondersteuning voor muziek afspelen met de volgende update.
• “Hey Cortana, open Forza” of “Hey Cortana, let’s play Forza” – Laat zien dat Cortana echt slim is en je verschillende woorden kunt gebruiken om een game te starten. Bovendien hoef je niet langer de precieze gamenaam te zeggen, “Forza” in plaats van “Forza Motorsport 6”
• “Hey Cortana, start a party with Ryan”
• “Hey Cortana, search the store for Minecraft”
• “Hey Cortana, who are Tom Hanks’ parents?”
• “Hey Cortana, what is the square root of 256?”
• “Hey Cortana, translate hello to Dutch”
